CC Barracuda 125 with 6S LiPo

Has anyone used the CC Barracuda 125 with 6S Lipo ?

I am interested in how you set the low voltage cut-off .

I was planning to change to a 6S lipo setup in my Maritimo Catamaran from NiMh but I just read the Esc instructions and it has a cutoff voltage for 2 & 3 cell but the 12v has the following comment

Use this setting at your own risk!
Damage to the controller as a
result of using a 4-cell LiPo pack
    is not covered by the
    manufacturer’s warranty.

I’m now not sure if it is OK to use 6 cell Lipo set-up with this controller.

    Thanks
    Dave

The instructions clearly state you can use up to 6S LiPos. If you do, don't use the BEC - remove the center wire from the plug. Also, do not program the voltage cutoff from the transmitter. I set the cutoff with the CastleLink custom setting at 3.4 volts per cell - with 6S that's 20.4 volts.

      Thanks Fluid

I'll buy one of the interface cables.

I was goint to Email Castle about this. They say in the features of the Hydra 120
-"Six to twenty cells, or 2 to 6 cell Lithium Polymer packs"
-"12 cells (3s lipo) MAX with BEC"
and then they say to use the 12volt lipo cutoff at your own risk. So I don't know if they mean using the BEC with 4 or more lipos will void your warranty or just using the lipos themselves will do it. Maybe Steven can find out for us.

You cant use 4 cell lipos with bec it will damage controler, thats what they mean by "3s max on bec" you need to remove the red wire from the receiver plug.

They also are saying that you use the 12 volt low voltage cut off for 4s at your own risk, not that you cant use 4s. just remove the red wire and you can use 6s just fine. I have ran 6s on the 120 before and the controler is just fine.

lipos wont void the warranty, otherwise they wouldnt say "2-6 cell litium packs" in the manual.

Everyone will agree with me that Castle Creations has the best customer service, they have replaced everything I have sent them at no cost! (so far) so I wouldnt worry about warranty to much.
