UBEC Hobbywing 5V / 6V

Hello guys, I need your advice about this new Hobbywing UBEC-3A (2-6S Lipo Input)

Output Voltage: 5V@3A or 6V@3A (Changeable with an output-voltage select switch ) 5A max.
Input: 5.5V-26V (2-6 cells lithium battery pack)

I used the 5s version of this, maybe 5 so far on the ESC that had no BEC, worked fine.
I even used some 5s rated on 6s setup and no failures yet.
Seems very good unit.

I have been using this one with very good success.

I wish they would get the capacity right or help my understanding, on alot of products there is confusing info

Eg on the hobbycity site it says the input is 2 to 5S, isnt 6s 22.2V? and therefore ok?

Always play on the side of caution.
Never use your electronics near the MAX settings.
For a 6S and above, I would use this unit.

The discontinued UBEC from Hobbywing, same as Hobby King: Input: 5.5V-23V (2-5s lithium battery pack, 5-15cells NiMh / NiCd battery pack)
New model is stronger: Input: 5.5V-26V (2-6 cells lithium battery pack)

Don't forget Solverig, a fully charged 6s pack is 25.2V (4.2V per cell)
22.2V is the nominal voltage of a 6s pack.
As TRUCKPULL says, stay below the max rating of electronic components.
If it's borderline always go the next size up, in both voltage & amperage capabilities.

I ended up with the Dimension Engineering Sport Bec off the OSE site.
Input voltage: 9V to 33.6v (3s-8s lithium, up to 21 NiMHs). The unit works great until I connect the esc to it (as the instructions say) with the bec in the receivers usual channel slot, then no response to the esc. If I bypass straight to the receiver then no problem (with the bec connected to the receiver in the battery slot and the esc in the usual slot. The bec always has power to the receiver either config. I just carnt get it to work the way the instructions say it should. (esc is Etti 150HV)

I use the hobbywing in the sons little DF 25 copy works great. Once you add a BEC and a liposhield the small boat looks like 3CPO from starwars with wires everywhere, hard to keep it tidy.
