You can get by on the $100 5000mh 30C 6S packs. Dont bother with splitting up the packs (2-3S packs per motor). If you need pack adaptibility because of other hulls then go that route but its better (for your wallet) not to. Large packs will give you less IR overall in the power circuit and if you use a LVC device you can control each packs abuse or lack of. I prefer dedicated packs in each of my hulls. I know how many times I take them out. I know how many times they have been cycled. I know if they are being used in a high amperage or an endurance boat.

Just my 2 cents but I would bet with that hull your going to want to run both 5S and 6S packs. Before you purchased that one I debated whether its was on my want list. It was very tempting! You might consider also changing the props down to a size that gets you speeds in the upper 50's/ low 60's and lower pack draw so you can enjoy driving that critter around the lake longer. Thats a big boy and has one advantage over smaller hulls,......... you can go out further and maintain your run aspect. And a large hull going 60 feels better to the driver then a small hull at 60. You will gain the confidence of being in control for the speed just due to sheer size. But the other side of that is mass. Start going faster and you better be able to anticipate where you are in proportion to the shoreline!

Thanks John what prop would you try on it . As for driving I might be new to the FE world but I have been driving for over 38 years for fun and back in the day I was a team driver for bandit boats I have several national titels and many 2nd and 3dr also at the nats. This cat is just for fun take it out to the lake and play but you no it needs to have some 6S put in it here and there for some speed passes lol thanks for the help

If it were me I would start with a pair of 442's. I bet John ran the boat with 447's on 6S. Seems to be about on the edge for your setup. I saw a comment on RRR where another guy with the same hull was running 447's cut down to 45mm but he was running Lehner mtrs. I never did see a comment on what props came with your buy. The ABC 1616-10-50 in L&R look interesting but 1816-10-50 set could be the ticket too. 3 bladers with the power you have could make things interesting.

I think he said they were 447s. when I ran nitro I used to find the right prop for my boat then go down 1 size and cup it. I found buy reducing the thrust cone it gave be more speed. I was thinking of doing this to a new set of 447s take them down to 45 run the boat and see what the eagle tree has to say and then strat cupping, tips first and then back a bit if the tree said it's ok lol
