Getting rid of burned smell from the boat.

One of my ESC burned to the crisp inside the boat.
I left the boat to air out for 1 month and it still stinks, not as bad though.
Any further steps one can take outside of re-glassing it inside to kill the smell?

Every time I out my hands inside to do anything on it, they pick up the stink

Truth be told, there's no real fix.

You're in luck though, because I operate a disposal service for boats with that burned smell. Simply send me your hull (insured, of course) and with only 3 simple payments of $19.99 (I accept cash, check, paypal, and plastic) I'll make sure that smelly boat never comes into your house again.

Note that the smell sticks to all the internals - batteries, motor, receiver, servos - as well as the running hardware, so just pack up the whole thing and ship it to me. You can enclose your first $19.99 payment with the hull, even if it makes the money smell bad.

        :)

not sure on links, I just remember various threads... try different words, maybe they are buried in other threads. If I come across one I will link it here.

I reckon I could help as Andy does, and I don't charge such exorbitant rates! just $20 flat fee - never smell it again.

Strip it, scrub it --- then scrub it again- pull all floatation out and replace with new! Set it out in the sun to dry then sprinkle the inside with baking powder close it up and let it set in the sun for a few days!

A lot of baking powder and then roll the boat to distribute the stuff!

Then Scrub it again with your choice off cleanser! I used Scrubbing bubbles!

            Then reassemble!
We did it with a Bang!

I took everything out, cleaned it all up, replaced the foam, and it still smells. You get used to it.

I have a boat that has that freshly roasted smell, although I didnt get rid of it I managed to change the smell - I poured vanilla essence in the boat and swished it around a lot, now it smells like vanilla! (well burnt vanilla)

Spray the inside with butyric acid. You will never notice the burnt esc smell again!

I use a standard enzyme car odor remover... takes away 90% of the smell. Just spray, let it rest for 1h and you're ready!

                            Goo Gone works great
