    ose-700sc

what is the amp max intake or w/e you call it for this motor
i would like to be in the clear (a esc) for this motor. would the rc hydros esc (90amp limit)be enought or the other one(60) i am not good with the brains of amps yet. i'll be running it in a 26" hydro with with the biggest prop i can use with to much amp draw. thanks

That esc is is a tuff customer. It will prolly handle most of the props that will fit in that small space. Be sure to convert your drive cable to a .130 and use the 3/16th to 1/8th propshaft. That big motor is likley to twist smaller cables to failure. Just my opinion.

The maximum amps a 700sc can handle is 35-40 amps, so a jeti 60 or rc hydros 90 brushed motor controller will work fine.

A typical racing setup draws around 40-45 amps on the datalogger. As long as the motor does not get too hot it will last a long time at this draw level - my first one lasted two years racing twice a month. The Jeti works well, but all the above is for 12 cells. Add more cells and the heat goes up (along with the power) and motor life goes down. You will want to use 3/16" props, and the 1/8"/0.130" cable is the minimum. The SAW-record boats with 700s draw over 75 amps and the motors last about four passes before they are destroyed.

Fluid I only recomend that cable and the reducer because if the small amout of clearence he has. I think the minimum diameter of the 3/16th prop are 37mm correct? I figured it was going to be the strongest cable propshaft combo he can run.

No the can on the 700sc is sealed. It can't be rebuilt. For the low price it's prety much disposable @ that point.

so they are not good for water bashing, cuz they burn out in like 10 runs? if that is true, then i might want to use 2 moters like those 19 turn motors in the ose store for the villian.

No you miss understood what he said. If you over volt them they burn up. He raced one for 2 years. A race motor lasting 2 years is almost unherd of. It's the best 700 motor avalable today. imo anyway.

A octura M445 works great with a 700 on 12 cells, I use it on both hydros and monos.

A 700sc can handle up to 16 cells, keep it below 35 amps.

                          14 cells 40 amps.

                          12 cells 45 amps

675 watts max seems to be the magic number for it to last.

75 amps will fry it the first time out for some pond bashing.

Steven sells an easy to use meter that you plug in between the battery and controller for when setting up your boat. Some guys use an infrared temperature meter. Dont let it get over 140 F. Remember the longer it runs the hotter it will get. Start testing with a small prop, then try larger ones until it reaches your limits. To much heat shortens the life of a motor, controller or batteries.
