    Yes, there are a few actually. I will be racing one in Limited Spec Offshore class this season. Also I believe there is a class that will allow twin powered. I may be wrong but it is either Q-offshore or P-offshore. Go to NAMBA website and you can download the rule book.

                A Neu 1515 1y in the drifter on 4s lipo will give you a very competitive boat.

                  To answer the original question: There are two active R/C boat racing organizations in the US, IMPBA and NAMBA. Both are similar but not the same. One thing they both have in common is a confusing set of rules!

                  http://www.impba.net/

                  A catamaran can run as a hydro or an offshore boat in both, and as a tunnel in IMPBA. Under these groups are voltage classes based on the number of LiPo cells you run; 1S is one LiPo cell, 2S is two, etc.

                  N-2 = 2S
                  P = 4S
                  Q = 6S
                  S = 8S
                  T = 10S

                  It is challenging to learn about FE boats, and many newcomers have difficulty by ignoring the details (one of the biggest - water and electronics don't mix!). The best thing to do is to join a local FE club, if there is on in your area. Asking questions on the Internet can be a crap shoot, some answers will be spot on, some will lead you to disaster. This board is pretty good, but don't go by what any single person recommends. Tell us where you are based and we'll try to hook you up with a set of good locals.
