    Carbon fiber tape oz?

    I'm going to order some carbon fiber tape and was wondering what weight everyone uses for the bottom of a hull or installing beefing up motor rails ect...?
    2oz, 5oz,7oz?

    Depends on how strong you need it and or how light you want to keep it.
    I personally use 5 oz. for just about everything.

        Thanks for the replies, looks like USComposites has a good price at 5.00 a yard for 5.7 oz. 2" wide

        They only have the tape in 5.7 oz though, and I don't know if thats stiff as cardboard or more like a cotton shirt weight?
        Then there is ACP, there stuff looks really good (and expensive) but reading there description is all Greek to me?

          The 5.7 oz. 2x2 twill cloth is exactly what I use for laying up boats.
          It's very conformable and it's more like a "cotton shirt weight". I have used U.S. Composites for a source of carbon for years, They have good service, quality product, and they are close so shipping is much less for those of us on the east side
