oh man, this has me thinking...
I would love to build a twin MM with a CF hull, but now I may try the " does anyone have a single MM that runs 75mph?" challenge

Hay thats my Twin on Intlwaters.
                ITS FREAKING TOPS TO DRIVE.

Im having some issues with the setup though. Maily cause its 5s each motor.
Keeping the cell weight under 1500grams which we have to run at here in AUS.
Im thinking of doing a motor change and running 10s pack powering the 2 motors. Thats going to be a little painfull for the cells but i think with correct prop setup it will be ok.

                TWINs are great fun.
Just like its nitro buddies this things acceleration is awesome.
I pull slightly smaller props than what the twin nitro run. 1462 with cup, they run 1667s. Im going to do some more mods and see what happens in a few weeks time.

I just wish that i had more time to get to the water and play with it.

Let me add my 2 cents at least for I have observed in NAMBA:

For Nitro riggers in heat racing against other "X" class boats it is a dead draw. Singles can be as fast as twins in the right water conditions. Twins have the advantage of weight and raw power but usually are forced to run in the outer lanes and rely or brute strength. It comes down to driver and set-up. Singles have equal speed but are much lighter and can manuever around other boats inlcuding dead boats. You'll rarely see a twin try to make an inside pass on a single or particularily any squeeze situation. A lot of this also comes down to driver commitment. Twin drivers usually have a lot more feeling for self preservation due to cost and rareity of their boats compared to a more agressive single driver who can rebuild/replace his boat more readily. It hard to swallow loosing a $3k boat, but its really hard to swallow loosing a $6k boat. Just my opinion there.

For Nitro SAW: singles hold all the records. Twins are really just too difficult for SAW running given the nature of the short bursts, turn arounds and distances on either side of the traps. In IMPBA the single record is 15 mph higher than the twin. In NAMBA, the single record is 20 mph over the IMPBA twin record (NAMBA does have a seperate twin class like IMPBA).

For Nitro 2-Lap: Singles hold all the records

For Nitro 6-Lap: Singles hold all the records including X hydro

If you want to talk FE racing in the open class, well it's just that-----open. You can run up to T power which allows twins and up to 12,000mAh of battery. So you can run 10S2P or anything lower as you like. There might be a better trade-off running a 6S2P rigger which will be ligher, more agile and more manageable than a 10S2P rigger becuase you cannot easily race a over the top powered 10S rigger. A 10S2P cat or mono may be a different story though.

I'll get off my podium now.

twins may not hold many or any records but in oval racing, a good twin is better than a good single.

HAve you seen the holes that the twins leave behind them . . . MASSIVE

Well theres more weight and drag in a twin. Thats obvious and theres less to break with a single. But to get a clear view of any of it you have to look at the international scene not just the national scene. U also cant account for all the gurus that are out there that arent on these forums or at the races. Dont debate it too much cuz who really knows 6 one way half a dozen the other.Personally I like to run the boats like the real counterpart. The cats beg for twins cause thats how u see them in real life.If it were mine id go on enjoy it and put a hog in there but If he wants twins let him have twins. It will be cool just an experiment but dont waste you time on a whole bunch of stuff if for the cost you can just go with a big fat neu and know shes gonna run.
