    Prop ?

    What's the difference between a x445 and a 1445 ?

It is the shape of the prop with less lift. A 1445 has same pitch inches. It is really just lift and design of the prop. X series is usually better for lift for our boats. At least that is my take.

The X4xx series of props are low lift with light loading at the tip of the blade

14xx series props have medium levels of lift and the blade area weighted toward the tip of the blade.

        Hi Phil,

The 1445 may cause hopping on my rigger with cupping it and working it a bit.
My design likes rougher water and X series worked or the M series.

E-mail if you want to discuss props.

Steve. I'm going to try it this weekend on 4S with the 7Xl, Etti 150 and a X642. Do you think the X642 is ok to start with ?

I know you asked Steve and while you wait for his answer I'll fire in my 2c worth.

My bigger rigger has had 8xl, 7xl, and now a 6xl in there. All fed 4S by a Mystery 200A esc.
The 642 is a fair mouthful of prop and not one I would generally kick off with but should be fairly easily handled by your setup.
I like to test setups with a 637 and the the 640 the 642 (tweaked by AndyM) is my "Bíg" prop.
            See it....find the photos.....sketch it it....build it........with wood

I have found the 642 a good prop for a 7xl in a rigger, with some mods very fast. I am currently testing a 1742/3 on a raptor with a 1415 1.5D 2700kv on 4s with a hydra 240. Took some doing removing enough of the lift by back cutting and spooning with some tip cup. cut back to 40mm. It is very very fast but run times are strictly 1 1/2 min no more as the temps are rather high !!

Phil I really liked the M445...short run times though, check the heat.

I prefer a little larger diameter to smaller dia higher pitch props. You can try the
                X642 for comparison.

Steve. The Rigger ran Great today. I was running right around 65 mph and the setup seemed to have a lot more left in it. Unfortunatly I have to sell most of my toys off. I found out one of my boys has a heart condition and I'm going to spend more time with him. Thanks for all your help. Phil
