Whats the difference between ?

As most of you know im new to boating & im trying to educate my self to this hobby. What is the difference between epoxy & finishing resin ?. I would also like to know when you should use each of these products ?. Thank's

the resin is used with glass cloth to repair or make something. The basic epoxy is more of a strong glue to fix or attach things.

So if you trying to seal bare wood in a boat. which would you use or can you use either one ?.

Have you ever tried Wikipedia ? I could try to explain but I think I would suck at it and I know a lot about resin.
