You will have great fun for sure. Sounds like a great setup minus the prop. Start a bit smaller if you can. Should see speeds pushing high 50's if setup just right. With the 10XL like knpc stated it may not last as long as you would like and may need bearing change after the season but I think everything should hold just fine. Heck of a bunch of fun those DF boats are.
EDIT: remember that is unloaded RPM so with a 445 prop you should end up right were you want to be.
boat sure ran like a raped ape for about 2 days then the unthinkable happened UP IN SMOKE everything except the hull and hardware crap crap crap!!! I need help with another set up for same speed but reliable.
The 445 prop on a (540 10XL) will smoke the motor with around 3000 watts. Always look at the WATT rating of a motor. The heat will kill the magnets and possibly the esc too.
Reddywatts according to chart in # cells /motorkv/propsize/hullsize the set up I put in the 33 delta should have worked fine you wrote the chart . Please help me out
I don't understand why you ask how would this setup work and then say you ran it for two days then smoked. Was the setup different when it smoked? A 445 prop is big with that setup. I would start with 40-42 if your set on 6s with minimal run time.
We setup a 26"delta with 6s and a 8xl. Prop was a x637 with a little cup added. After a two minute run temps were all under 110*. This is not a reliable setup as the boat is really setup for 4s but it sure was fun for the camera.
If all of your wishes are granted, many of your dreams will be destroyed!
I asked the question about the set up to see the response I would get . The responses I got is exactly what happened. My next question is can I use a 11xl or 14 xl since I have them laying around on a hydra 120 HV? And boat was same set up for the to days
if you search the threads you will see its common practice not to run a low voltage hydra on 6s lipo...even though its advertised that way..i did the same thing and it blew up..jut my 2 cents..it will be worth your money to invest in a high voltage esc you will be better off in the long run
