    what is the difference

    Nothing really. It's just that it might not be "Pistol" radio compatible so you may need to use a pistix.

      As long as you waterproof it to some degree and add some cooling, nothing wrong with it at all. Actually "plane" esc's are usually MUCH cheaper than "marine" esc's. Of course as Dom said, you might need a pistix..........but I know someone who has a new unused one.........lol.

            My first ESC was aircraft :-) (Turnigy Plush 80A ~50$)



            I made watercooling plate by myself (copper + brass pipes + thermal conductive glue).
            No problem running 60A on my first 20" mono - 380L and cheap 5,3Ah lipo 7,4V

              the mystery/himodel esc,s like the 100 and 200a that are fairly popular are aircraft esc,s
              there pistol tx friendly

                They are good for FE boats, but useless for scale models, as most of them do not have reverse...

                  didnt realise it was for a scale boat
                  had reverse on the first electric boat i brought, was fun hit rev it would suck it self 2 foot under water
