What I meant was they only run WOT (wide open throttle) for short bursts and partial throttle for most of the run. E.I. they get their kicks for a small percentage of the pass on the pond/lake. Thats the worse thing you can do to your speedo. A sure way to kill it or damage its components.

Ill put my hand up and say im guilty of the above statement!!
I really dont see any other way in which to run my Cat.
Its long and narrow, it wont corner at 80mph

If anything i see it better to maybe do damage to the speedys, then hold it flat thinking its better for my boat, and then seeing it go airborne and crash.

So it sucks, but what do ya do?

I cant see anything wrong with that statement. Sounds like like a good understanding of your hulls performance. But thats not what I meant. I mean setups where its not a performance issue, more like a failure to understand staying at reasonable duty cycle within the speedos limits.

Oh yeah for sure, i completely agree..
Please dont think i was having a go at what you said john,
im the first to admit im total noob lol, and i completely agree that partial throttle is not good due to running un- effeciently.
I just ment i hate that i know that its not good to cruz the corners at half throttle, but what do you do
