    HOTR Inline rudder and strut system

    Hello guys, I need advice about position of brass and teflon tubes and Iwant to know if this is better to put a shrink tube around the part near the strut Thanks

      I have this set up on my HOR cat. The brass tube slide all the way into the strut.
      I think you may be worried about getting water up the tube.
      Have not ran mine, ice on lake. So I do not know if water intake will be a problem.
      If u need a pic just ask.

          If the brass tube's slid into the strut, it will make strut height adjustments much more difficult. Leaving about an inch and a half of the teflon exposed between the stuffing tube & strut allows for more flexible adjustment. From the looks of your photo, it doesn't appear that the brass tube would slide into the strut, anyway. Use double walled adhesive shrink tube to seal the stuffing tube/liner/strut junction - - keeps the water out.

            On the other hand, inserting the stuffing tube to the strut can help eliminate drive line vibration, making it more rigid.
