YouTube videos are virtually worthless for evaluating setups. The video in question - how do you know what was running in the boat? You don't know. How do you know that after just 90 seconds of running the motor and ESC were not smoking hot? You do not know. The big clue here is the fact that he burned up so many ESCs. I'm not saying the seller was dishonest, but I do know that YouTube videos have disappointed lots of folks who ended up getting something different than what they thought they saw on a video.
LOL, stay with the KB45 junk if you wish, but there is a very good reason that Steven stopped selling the motor in the OSE store. You might read what he has to say about them: http://www.offshoreelectrics.com/pro...php?prod=kb-45
Your self-righteous stand on Castle products may be satisfying to you - but plenty of other FE boaters disagree. Odd that you went with the top-quality MGM controller but stayed with the POS KB motor.... Suit yourself, ignore the advice of others, we are just here to screw you over anyway!!

All my records were set with Castle controllers. I don't own anything else. Well, I still have some RC Hydros kicking around but Andy never got around to a brushless speedo.
Plugging a bad motor into a good controller is a waist of money IMO. I had a Hacker motor that cooked 3 speedos before I realized my motor was shot. I thought it was my setup. Expensive process of elimination. I often wonder about the spontaneous combustion stories of esc. Hind sight has made it clear to me that many of my past esc problems could be traced right back to my ignorance.
If that KB setup has cooked more than one ESC I would seriously consider dumping it. The Scorpion and Hyperion motors rip AND are inexpensive.Noisy personComment

You choose not to take the collective input from others trying to help YOU. Some of these guys are the most experienced FE boaters in the world. They are trying to steer you in the correct direction.
If you choosed not to listen, then you're doing it at your own risk. Don't dis our forum, that is the last way to get input from ANY member!Comment

....um, sarcasm? Something has to be getting lost in translation. I didn't type my earlier response with any attitude. I didn't mean to at least.
What does "one eyed" mean? Sounds like something my wife might call me.
I think Schulze esc will take more abuse than any of them. As well they should for the price. We've had MGM's in the club. 2006 season we had one running 1/8 scale. Ran really well.Noisy personComment

i think he means one eyed as in neu motors and castle esc,s there is heaps of guys on here that run neither, i don't
i have fiegaos, scorpion, a mgm and the rest are Chinese esc,s
its funny to spend $800 on a esc but wont get rid of the well known crap kb motor
2 esc,s are already dead, when your third one goes bang which is more than likley you may realize you have a bad motor not esc,s.
but as you know so much and wont listen to they advice of others then tuff luckComment
