    New Project..... help

    Hi guys,
New to this forum and looking for some input. I am rigging up one of DaVettes new Jet Sprint boats with a KMB 40mm jet drive and want to go with a big(fast) bushless system. The hull is 34" by 14" and some are using Zen260 gas motors in their hulls. Appreciate all info./help as I am new to the FE boat stuff, been doing RC boats for 40 years or so; motor, ESC, batteries....... electrical stuff/info is what I'm looking for.
    Thx

I run a 40mm PowerJet (also sold by KMB) with a home brew trim adjustable nozzle on a Feigao 540 6xl with a Seaking 180A esc and 4900ma 30c 3s lipo in a converted Ed Hardy Viper 28" (non-stepped) mono V24-type hull with good results, except for toasting the occasional speed control. You might want go to a 580L in that (longer, wider) boat. Jet drives eat wattage - much worse than submerged drives.
Legend 36 sailboat, KMB Powerjet Ed Hardy Viper, ABC jet pwrd BBY Oval Master, ABC Hobby Jetski, NQD Tear Into's, HK Discovery 500, MickieBeez pwrd Jet Rigger!, Davette/Gravtix jet sprint, KMB Powerjet Pursuit, NQD pwrd Jet Catamaran!,Steam pwrd African Queen, Sidewinder airboat, Graupner Eco Power

      580 9L on 6s would be a screamer.................

Sundog, Have you posted a thread for your Ed Hardy that i may have not seen..............it looks super cool.

Edit: referring to a Feigao motor............

Not here. Go to RCU and do a search for Sundogz Batboat. It's scattered about in the All things Jet Drive section. I should probably do a proper build thread on it some time.

no website that I know of..... Dana is on Jims RC boat dock forum on a regular basis.... Dana W or search for DaVette and you'll find more info.

On this build I'm thinking of maybe the Scorpion HK4035 Series Motor (outrunner) with the Scorpion 6-cell 120 Amp ESC with Switching BEC; 6s 5000mah batts (2 3 cell 5000s in series for 22.2v right?) ........
anyone got some feedback on this type of setup? or should I consider an inrunner NEU 2215 setup?????
            thx,

Unless they make the scorpion motor in a higher kv than the 800 i found, you wont have enough rpms on 6s...........around 18,000 or so.

I believe they have a 1050kv also, not sure, but 18k may be plenty as the gas powered boats are only turning 14.5-17.5K rpm.......... I know I want torque more than real high rpms........ 18K-20K rpm s/b screamer.....
