Need more speed!!!

I like the 3 blades too but they can get expensive to try. I also tryed some cupping on my 455 prop but didn't care for the results. This motor likes the big blades better than the smaller higher pitched ones. I did run 10s on mine but I had the 460 prop on and the difference was just a slower boat. The bats were borrowed so I didn't have a chance to go bigger on the prop. I ran this motor on alot of combinations for over 2 years. I still recommend Running the 465 (detounged) as all Octura 4 series props should be if you dont have the money or time to experiment with props.

I would like to get more speed out of my current setup of my 47" Flying Dragon Mono boat. My setup as follows:


Motor : Neu 2215 2Y
ESC : Huaya 200A HV
Batts : 10s2p 10,000mah 40C
Prop : Octura X455 and X457
Total weight : 9kg

Max speed by Garmin Forerunner 101 was 53mph.

Max amp draw by Eagletree was 160A.



Will getting a Octura X452/3 or X455/3 increase my speed?

I did try 10S1P 5000mah, its still the same speed and run time came down too. Doesnt make much difference on speed.

BTW I always had better acceleration and speed with 3 bladers on my 3060/8 on 10S in my mono. I would try cupping up and detounging a 455 or 457 before going to any more major expense.

My 455 is detounged.

I have just purchased the water jacket from Andrew and water cool the motor to check if i will get better speed with a cooled motor.
