I tried that too and had problems. It is not a ratio by weight but a ratio by VOLUME. The hardener or resin, I don't remember which, is heavier than the other one! When you get into 2:1 or 4:1, etc. it can mess you up good. Not too big a deal with 1:1 and especially if mixing small quantities.

You're right here, but most resins will say the ratio by weight in the instructions... at least mine does. Resin is usually heavier.

ya, the guy sold me some pumps that can stay in the cans for years and give you exact volumes; plus the super clean dispensing ... the way to go.

Interesting. None of the resins I have ever used mentioned weight.

My local distributor says that he does use weight but only for small amounts, while the pumps give you exactly the amount you need right in your container. He did say that if you wanted to use the scales you could and he didn't think one was denser than the other; just that it is way less convenient that way.

I wouldn't waste my time with 3m to tack it down, the fiber glass will eventually come off, been there, done that, tried that, it lasted for about 1 season of racing and then started pulling off especially in the hot sun.

You sayin the glass will come off BECAUSE of the 3M or just come of anyway? Being on the inside, I was gonna coat it also with sprayfoam for added rigidity.

Jeepers, how did you prep your work? could it have been a slightly dirty surface or not scuffed? or new abs... I am wondering if between 3M and CA I can get the glass to stick enough to not come loose later...
