sport hydro u number question

when putting a 'u' number on a boat, can one get away with something like U94.9? thanks

You can put any number on it you want, In NAMBA we put our NAMBA # there sometimes no complaint in Scale it a little different.

There actually were several full-scale boats sponsored by radio stations and that's how they were registered. Miss Rock U-99.9 (KISW) for instance.
The 1/16th Scale that Dave Frank did for RCBM was modeled after one of the Miss Rock hulls.
