Need some BL conversion advice PLEEZE

New to the forum and I'd greatly appreciate some help and advice.

I own a 48" Aeromarine DeepVee with a 30cc Homelight and the boat does very well, Unfortunately my worn out old shoulder causes me a lot of pain pull starting so I'd like to convert it to Brushless.

I am very BL/Lipo savy but with RC Monster Truck conversions so the BL boat thing is all new to me. I have a NEU 1527 1500kv motor that I think would be a great candidate for this ? I'd like to run 10s and will be purchasing either a Castle HV ESC or maybe try a 200amp ESC from another Co thats much cheaper ?

    The questions are as follows;
Will I be able to use the same props I have now
Whos motor mount will best fit my boat, custom fabbing and modding NOT a problem
Any responses with advice or suggestions will fall on open ears, I'm still learning the boat lingo and techniques so please bare with me.

    Thank You Gentlemen
    Jeff

That motor is a 6s max motor, 10s is waaay too much voltage.

The 1527 is a bit small for a hull that size.

I agree that the 1527 is to small. But I think you will be able to run it, but not at record speeds. A 1527 is good for about 1.5-2hp for short runs. So your speeds, props and runtime will be much lower than what you are accustomed to. Take a look at this motor for your hull. http://www.offshoreelectrics.com/pro...ls-63outrunner

Now you're getting warmer, One of our club members is running a 39" mono with that motor on 6S and it runs really well.

I have no problem buying another motor and this one above is def cheap enough !
Then I can save my 1527 for a RC Truck project

Keep the advice coming fellas, I post pics of the Muss hull tonight.

              Thank You !!

Another approach is to get an electric starter for your gas engine. You'll have to google for it. I know somebody out there makes them. Not trying to run you away from FE, but another option an ultimately probably cheaper.

neu make a motor that is a replacement for the zenoah engines.
neu 1900zr puts out 4-5 hp and spins to around 18,000 rpm under load on 10s

Ya know, funny thing is I own 7 NEU motors and never thought to look in the Neu Boat section DOH!
If this 40" hull looks nice I'm gonna order up a Castle ESC and get going on my new project And sell my Aeromarine w/motor.
                      Thanks Ozzie !

OK, heres the boat I'm gonna go with, forgot the name but it's brand new with no holes even for rigging. Scored for $50.00, weighs 4.4lbs and is 42" long.

                        8s and the 1527 1.5 should be a good combo ????

                        Whatcha think ???

OBTW, the other boat I spoke about is a "Steve Maus" I was real nice but paper thin, I wouldn't trust myself w/it being that light.

I'm still gonna say that is way too much voltage for a 1500kv motor unless running saws only. I'm sure others will tell you the same.

I admit I don't know everything about BL motors so I'm having trouble understanding why 30volts is to much when rated for 40 ?

This motor will take 8s in a 16+lb RC Monster Truck geared for 40-45mph will zero problems or heat issues.

Help me understand what your talking about ?

Look on the 5th line in the first box, says rated up to 8s with this motor ?

Boats are very demanding on the motor, ESC and batteries. A monster truck is no comparison as you will be be at full specs and more on the electronics in a boat. I have no experience on a hull of that size, you will need the help of some big boat gurus and it is going to be quite expensive to convert. You will need a motor with a lot of torque and if the motor states up to 8S, reduce that to 6S, 10S reduce to 8S and the same applies to the ESC.
