Step mono legal in AMPBA ?

The AMPBA rule book states in section 7.2.2 subsection (a)" A hull which has no discontinuities between or steps in the wetted surface running at more than 15 degree angle with keel, in plain view (bottom view)"
I am asuming this means this hull is out ?

It is the Speedman hull I am thinking of

When aired out I doubt the step would be in the wetted area ???

      Wanna race a H&M hull ?
Look at the No-Step 3, that is an EXCELLENT hull !!!
What is the max. lenght of the hull in the class you wanna race in ?

The Speedman , http://www.hydromarine.de/hm_22341.htm. awfull deep vee and a huge step !
Could be something for SAW, instead of racing ?

Hey Andy, looks illegal to me mate, but pretty cool!

I agree about your question regarding "wetted surface when operating at racing speed". How do you measure that??? Life would be easier if it said "no steps in the aft 50% of the hull" or something like that.

Nice work with the SD, should be a rocket!

I'm setting up a 29" SD at the moment with an 8XL. Had her pretty close on 25C cells, then tried 30C cells and the extra power has put me back to square one (but made for some excellent aerobatics!). I think it's just too light. More testing required!

M8 I have not had my DF on 6s yet. Handling is good now and I think it will give 78mph a shake just before the esc bursts into flames and the batteries explode

I will never knock an andym prop dude. I just wont mention it ever happened. The same way I covered up 3 lost gps's, 4 flamed esc's, 2 hulls with holes burned in them and all those lost props. M8 I know I am an idiot, but a bloody fast idiot.

Scott I have noticed the build, my 33" will be powered by the usual 1515 1y, flooded shaft similar to yours etc etc. Am hoping the extra length and weight will be beneficial. Is the brass tube outer of your shaft log 11/32 ? or bigger ?

That will be a very nice SD combo, should run great! My outer tube is 15/32" - pretty big, but doesn't weigh much due to the short length.
