What was the esc doing that you did not like?
I'm running a 100A esc now in my Cap232 running a C4260 500kv outrunner on 6s and a 16x8 prop and it seems to work very well for me.. timing is set at 15* and pulls about 1750 watts.
I'm looking to run one of my 200s on 8s and a 12x12 prop, that should get me 135-145mph

The motor would spudder and start smoking AT 1/4 THROTTLE AS IF IT HAD A BAD CONNECTION. I WAS TOLD TO TRY THE HIGHEST TIMMING BUT IT ONLY MOVED THE SPUDDERING/SMOKING UP A LITTLE ON THE THROTTLE RANGE.
.. Both brand new, motor works great w/ a diferent esc and esc is now in a boat and works great. I contacted people on another forum and it seems that they arent compatable.. I never seen this befor.. But its the case in this circumstance..

Can anyone tell me the numbers on the FETs on the Himodel 8S 200 amp esc??

The 6S versions seem to have the 8896 FET which is only rated at 30Vdc. At 8S fully charged packs are more than that.

                    thanks.

Too bad about no programmer for these critters. Sure would make things simpler. If you look at the 8S version on the himodel website you can scroll down to the bottom and see 2 comments about how these speedos smoked on 8S. I'm not saying yours will, and maybe your setup does run on 8S,... but if someone took the time to post a comment about it dieing on 8S the last thing I would be doing is running it on 8S.

Ray, I think you and I bought the 6S version about the same time and got the 5S limitation because of the 25 volt caps if I remember right?

They varied. I'd rather just get a Mystery, same thing. Opto is best.

I'm making a 4 fet layer one now.

I'm curious as well. If anyone owning one of these would step forward and cut off their heat shrink to inspect it. Then let us know what FET's are being used I will be more then happy to send them a FREE chunk of quality heat shrink to recover the ESC. You will have to take off the heat sink to see the numbers but its not a difficult job.

I have one at home but I will have to wait till later to get to it. I will post as soon as I get back there. I always use the heat shrink like Schultze has on theirs.

I'll hold you to that chunk of shrink wrap John............J/K I have plenty.
