    Scorpion Motors

I've opened a dealer account with Scorpion Systems. So I'm looking for advise on what motors and kv's some of you guys are having success with?

Ditto, on the 3026 1900 and 4035 800. Also the 4025 series is another slightly overlooked size that is used in larger hulls.

Take a look at the Scorpion Commander V-2 speed control ; comes with a very versatile programmer box and it'd be my choice to power the 3026 series. Among many options, it has adjustable timing, which I found the 3026 to be sensitive to.
[ Although Jan me both used an UL-1 speedy with good results]

The Scorpion battery meter is very nice for not many bucks.

Also think about stocking the Scorpion bearing lube - a good preventative maintenence item.

The Scorpion 4035 - 800 is what we use in 1/7th boats. It is very reliable and has a really nice sound when turning about 21K. It is also very friendly to batteries with its relatively light current draw. An 80 amp Turnegy will be plenty for it.

I think the 3026/1900 is a decent motor for 14.8v and the 4035/800 and the 4035/630 are used in ginourmous hulls on 8-10 and 12s... I use the 800kv version in my 1/8 scale and boy is there power... I have heard that some guys are using the 630kv version with a great deal of success as well.

I would also suggest carrying some high quality sealed bearings to get better performance and lower maintenance. I have found the Boca stainless/ceramic Lightning series bearings a good choice in the Scorpion motors.

The HK3026-1900 motor is a wonderful 1/10 scale 4S motor. The -1400 may work well with 6S setups, but I haven't tried it. The HK4035-800 is well suited for big scale hulls on 8S or 10S, but you could also make the 4025-740 and -890 motors work too.

I haven't seen a maximum RPM on the 3026, anyone can enlighten me?

These motors are very interesting and seem to perform well in all applications. I'll be ordering one to try in my Revo.
My prop hasn't been wet in a while.

Looks like it's fairly simple to get custom wound motors from them.
Great thread with advice and feedback for Scorpion here http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=660918
Make sure to bug them about the 16s 300amp ESC there working on.

                    16s 300amp ESC?
Are they in the automotive industry as well?! That's 17,760watts... who has a boat that needs that much power, or do you know anyone that has a boat that needs that kinda power?
I saw it a couple of years back in an RCX show in town and let me tell ya, it is a brick... at least it has the same size as one.

I agree with the bearings suggestion, a good affordable replacement would be nice to have.

And finaly, the Big Brother of this family is the 300 amp model. At full rated current, this ESC can handle 20,400 watts of power, or 27.3 HP! OMG The heat sink on the 300 amp ESC measures 4.63" x 3.00" x 1.75" (117 x 76 x 44 mm), and the overall length, including the capacitors, is 6.50" (165 mm). The overall weight of this ESC as shown below is 22.2 ounces (629 grams).
