Tough day at the "lake" the other day

My boys and I went in search of open water in the North East. I found a boat ramp on a river, brackish water, but soft. I took the new mono out for a spin and it went well. When trying to bring it in for a prop change, I slipped down the icy ramp and went for a swim. Wet, hurt and humiliated I figured it was time to give in. I don't think the boys ever laughed so much. Anthony was so upset that he didn't get it on the video camera. But I'm ok with that.

I know what you mean, we were at the headwaters park last weekend (where the Madison and the Jefferson join to make the Missouri... I bet some of you have heard of that one?) and there is actually some unfrozed parts... hmmmmm.

The thinks for do to play with our toys!

The funniest part is that I said something like "OOOH BOOOY" when falling flat on my back and holding the spektrum high in the air so it didn't get wet. i don't even remember saying it, but the kids remember it clearly.

Wow, I've done the very same thing on a cold creek this time last year. The jetboat quit in rapid water. Was running through thigh deep water to rescue it when I slipped on some algae and went down FAST, but held the Airtronics MX3-FG up high (head went underwater!). Needed to dry it some later as the LCD got moisture in it, but all turned out well. Brrrrr. Where's my sweater.....

Don't worry Steven, you're in good company. I'm tied with Henry Velasco for the " Ungracefull Rescue Boat Egress And Making A Big Splash While Doing So " trophy. Also, my right knee has a somewhat permanent water/bruise condition for twice nailing it on the concrete but saving the FE from harm. FE Knee ?

have had a similar experience, there was a storm raging and it was raining dam hard, but after 2 weeks of waiting to try a new setup in a cat thought stuff it.
plastic bag over the tx,all is well until boat stops at the other end of the pond, yep the end that has a 30 deg slope and covered in rocks.
managed to get the boat out of the water, was walking over the wet rocks and went down, took skin of my elbow and had a 6" cut in my knee, but didnt drop boat or tx.
i was soaking wet and bleeding but gps showed just over 60 mph so i had a grin from ear to ear

When i think of how much crap iv had to go through to get my boats back it truely blows my mind. This is a sport for real men especially if you stick with it and keep going faster and faster. But like ozzie-crawl said ....when you look at that gps it makes it all worth while. As a matter of fact, thats all thats on my mind while suffering to get my boat back after a fast run " I wonder how fast it whent" LOL Dear GOD !!!!!!!!!!
