Do U know the SW26 stock shaft diameter?

Can someone please tell me the shaft diameter of the Pro Boat Shockwave 26. I have the boat and it doesn't tell me in the manual and I can't find it online anywhere. I am trying to upgrade the propeller but I need to know the driveshaft diameter to do that.

I am running a Trinity Chameleon 19t motor in it as an upgrade, everything else is stock. So if anyone has an opinon on what prop to get I am all ears too! I am leaning towards carbon since I don't have to sharpen or balance :)

You may be able to upgrade that cable. Steven devised a very clever upgrade that allows a flexshaft to run directly through to the propshaft eliminating the u joint. Do some digging in the build thread for the ose blackjack thread. It's all there. I think a .98 cable to a 1/8th prop shaft will be the way for you to go. Most of the small carbon props are for threaded shafts. The thread I mentioned will point out how to make it all work. Good luck :).

Evo you mentioned you were using a Trinity Chamelion in a SW26, how long do they last for you? I never had much luck with those motors even in 1/10 buggies, they were fast but ate through the brushes quickly and scored the comm after only a few runs, can't see them lasting very long in a boat. Just curious. Was looking for a good motor myself to run in light hulls on 6 cells, that was a while ago maybe Trinity improved them since.

Well my first run with the Trinity 19t on the SW26 was last night and I was very happy with the result. While not REAL fast, it was a big improvement over stock. I would say a solid 20 mph. I was using everything else stock and a 7 cel IB3600.

So I can't give you much insight on the longevity of this motor. I know it's comepletly rebuildable so that will help. I will let you know as I put more runs on it. The only thing I am still having issues with is heat. It got hot enough after about 7-8 mins to melt solder and my positive wire came off the motor obviously ending my run. I need to get the temps dwn as I want to continue to run 7 cells. So I am thinking of getting a better water cooling coil and getting an ESC that's water cooled too. Because I can't see a way to water cool the stock ESC. Maybe a smaller prop too

If you have that kind of heat upgrading your cooling is not going to solve it. You need to reduce your cell count to 6. If that is not an option you need to run a smaller prop. The only other options are to cut the time you run it in half + a cooling upgrade. That may not still do it. You may need to go back up to a 21 to 23 turn motor. The 19 may be to hot for your prop @ voltage no matter what you do. This is the problem with upgrading an rtr.

thanks sfje. Yeah I really want to stick with the 19t and 7 cells if at all possible. I am going to try a smaller prop, probably carbon. I am willing to get a diff ESC that's water cooled and would be better suited to this setup. But I am not sure which one to get. I was going to call Offshore tom and ask them to recommend one (not too expensive). Do you have any suggestions?

The stock prop on the SW26 is 1.34 x 2.059. This is just a little smaller than 35mm but bigger than a 32mm. It's small but has a pretty aggressive pitch at 2.059. This means the boat will travel 2.759 inches at every full rotation (with no slip). So maybe I'll stick with 35mm but get a reduced pitch.

I would stick with the stock esc unless you are getting it to hot. Try the smaller props first. Make sure the cable is spinning freely and the motor is properly alined. With that motor I thing you will do better to cool it with a fan and heat sink from 3 racing. look on ebay for them. I will post a picture later of the one I modded to cool the endbell. They are like 5 bucks and are ease to plug right into the BEC of your ESC.

Are these the fans you are talking about? They plug right into my stock ESC?
