Of coarse I had the cheap toy RCs when I was younger but I got my first cheap hobby grade car when I was 10. My grandparents bought me a Tamiya. I started racing them when I was 14 and I also got my first boat when I was 14. It was gas I have a pic. It was my dad's friend's boat and he never ran it any more. We bought it off him and got it running. Then it just got boring running it by myself and put it on the shelf for a few years. And continued with the cars and trucks both electric and nitro. Then all of a sudden I pulled it out last year and got it running again and am working on a new paint job. Since I have bought another gas boat and have moved on to the electrics too. The second pic is my electric fleet. The third pic is my new project. An HPR06. There seems to be no stopping it this time. I still have all my cars and trucks one of which is a bad a$$ LST. But am more into the boats now. Both the electric and the gas. I don't think I will get into the nitro boats though. I had enough of that with the trucks.
I have to say though this hobby has helped me through a lot and has kept my on the right track. Now I am 20 and looking back on my teenage years if I didn't have this, would I beThere are a lot of other things I could have been into that weren't good.

I started with Nitro trucks, them moved onto crawlers( I've built like 12), and then bought a cheap boat off ebay. That boat was so much fun for what it was, then I bought an SV27,a mini V and now I'm working on a micro rigger(sold all my other trucks to build this).
I think I'm sticking with boats, You don't have to worry as much about breaking parts every time I drive it, unlike my crawlers. But what sucks about boating, is that if you do break something its hopefully not followed by a puff of smoke:DComment
