Hello OSE can use help with Osborn rigger

Hi everyone I have been reading the site for a few weeks now.

Im going to try to make this short for now
    esc/motor
Castle I had problems with a 1/18 esc/motor they stood behind their stuff. It was a xmas present for my nephew 5 feet after installed poof esc and battery. I called them and they said Im useing too small battery but they sent me a new esc and said motor was ok. I installed again after xmas and it didnt hit the floor b4 poof. Now they said its the motor and sent me a new combo. The truck doenst stay on the ground now. 50mph and you give it full throttle it wheelies and flipps. Awsome didnt get my pack replaced though.

Ok what im geting at. The motor they say to use in the rigger is a comp motor no warrenty with the track record so far with me thats not gonna happen

I was looking Hydra/Feigao or cheaper turnigy/Feigao should I go for the 80A-HV
I can get 10cells in this boat but will it be too much weight.
I have realistic goals 50-70mph is enough.

    Thanks for any help

        Welcome to OSE iceman0!
The best person to ask this question would be Taylor Shaw (Eyekandyboats) He designed the rigger you are asking about and no one else here or anywhere else can better answer your questions.

        Shoot him a PM!

            You're welcome.
Here's a bit of nostalgia for you. This is the thread where the rigger got it's name.

After reading the thread and seeing that he wanted something that sounded more Canadian all I could think of was "The Outhouse"

                  Lol.

Ok what area on kv is best? Im trying to learn as most about brushless I can. I notice alot of motors don't list voltage they just say max amperage. a said motor is 60a max and its 2200kv from what I read when you up the voltage the kv goes up. The 60a is this in the max voltage or does the amperage not go up.
I'm just trying to figure out these HV esc's that are less then 100a

I'm sorry if iis a little confusing
thanks to anyone that tries to decode this

I took foreign languages in university....

The Kv is rpm per volt and is pretty much constant regardless of voltage. Max amp ratings for motors are not absolute, many motors can draw huge amps from good batteries. The higher the load (larger the prop) the higher the amp draw until something goes bang.

If you want 70 mph forget ESCs under 100 amp ratings. You will burn some up getting there. I don't know if the Osborne rigger will go that fast - it is not just a matter of adding more power until you get the speed you want, boat design is critical too. It probably can be made to go there.

How may volts do you want to use? LiPo will get you to your goal faster than NiMH cells will. I set the IMPBA SAW record over 85 mph with 12 cells and a Feigao motor several years ago, I'd go over 90 with same setup today but using LiPos.

Thanks and yes kv is rpm per volt but is there a way to find out the max volt of the motor? Like to say the fiegao motors I dont see a max voltage listed. Id love to pick up two motors to play with is there anywhere they might be a couple dollars cheaper maybe 60.
As for the 70mph not critical id be happy with 50 even though on another forum I was told the aquacraft setup for the ul-1 in this boat should bring about high 60's

                      thanks for the response
