Interesting. Although it's a little hard to tell in the picture, it looks like the pictured boat has hardware that places the prop past the back of the transom, which doesn't conform to the consensus that was decided on. If bought as a bare hull, the underhull straight shaft could, of course be rigged.

Seems that in 2007 Rego at RC Boatworks [Stryker] built some & Ken says that with a CMB .21 they ran in the mid-forties, stable and turned great. I'll see what more I can find out.

I e-mailed Ken last night; will let you know what info comes back.

                Hey Guys,

Ken Wiley and I both race at Camarillo and I have seen this mini crackers run. They are very nicely built, simple and easy to set-up. Ken and Rigo have had these for at least 2 years now, so I don't think they were aware of the 1/6 scale cracker rules proposed for FE.

His cracker would probably be appropriate for P type power systems. It would also work well in a lite set-up running a 1/10 scale or 1/8 scale car type power system.

                  Thanks Tyler,
I did a little research about the hulls and I came across the CPR (Camarillo Pond Rats) guys
on their site there are a couple of other shots of the hulls in the water, certainly nice to look at.
Tyler, did you have a chance to see their drive line? can you tell us what it's like?

                        Tony, Jan,

You are thinking of Mike Brown. He has the super nice gas crackers. Those are not Ken Wiley crackers. The Blue one in Mikes own design and the wood one is a Blazer Marine design modified for NAMBA rules.

Jan, the small crackers would have a similar drivline to a cat where the cable would exit through the bottom of the hull and have a slight bend. I believe the rails are glassed in at 4", but I am pretty sure Rigo could leave the rails out.

Sealing may be a slight issue as there are no lips , but lots surface area to tape.

Good stuff, Tyler. One thing though, the current agreed-upon setup for the proposed 1/6 P-Spec Cracker class is a straight underhull driveline with the prop [or is it the drive dog ? can't remember which at the moment] not extending past the transom.
Do you think Ken's hulls would lend themselves to this setup ?

I haven't looked at the rules, but I take it straight being literal solid shaft set-up.

                              Yes, I suppose you could.
