cool. thanks for the advice. as far as a prop and shaft i read reddy watt's mean machine setup and i'll use one of those props but would it be better to run a water penetrating prop? what are the best angles to run? any building tips will be very welcome.

and just so you all know i ordered the blue hull and it shall be named BLUE BALLS!

Here is my interpretation of how I was told to wire up my 240.....better have a sick iron!!! Do the same combining of the motor/ESC leads. I reshrinkwrapped the whole ESC to include the watercooling tubing connections.

WRONG! You want to carry both positive wires to the plug, ditto the negative wires. Do not cut them short and solder them before the connectors. I strongly recommend not using a single Deans with this controller....you are compormising its amperage capacity. Either use 5.5mm gold connectors - or use one Deans for the positive side (one + wire on each tab) and another Deans for the negative.

10AWG only can handle 55 amps.....X2 =110amps.....Hydra 240 = 240 amps....What gauge wire do your packs have? (10AWG?) What gauge wire does your motor have? (10AWG?) The Hydra 240 is just 2 Hydra 120's piggybacked.....So the suggestion is to use 10 (?) Deans connectors? The phenomenom involved is air gap.....air is not a medium used for transmission of DC power. It is seen as an open circuit no matter how good the connector is. There is no air gap in a properly soldered joint. How come the fastest FE on the planet uses NO motor connectors? Just solder joints. I use 16-IB3600's on a 9XL and the Hydra 240 rarely goes above ambient temperature. The diagram was what a club racer suggested, my configuration was to strip one lead 3/4" and the other 1/2" resulting in a 1/2" solder joint and so that the remaining 1/4" solders to the Deans. NO matter how you wire your Hydra 240 it will NOT be the weak link in your set-up.

i just ordered them from this site i would suppose that they are 10awg... they're thicker than the 12awg i bought to make a y-harness so yeah... so it's better to connect the engine to the esc with the 5mm gold connectors and the batteries with deans ultra? if i have 3 wires for the motor and 6 from the speed control how do i connect them? what is the best way? i am such a newbie.
