    New props for a 55 cat

    shocker 001.jpg

    shocker 002.jpgI have a 55 catamaran that was a twin gas boat and i converted it to brushless. It has 1/4 inch shafts so i dont have as many prop selectons as i would like. The motors are twin 540 6xl and i am running them on 3s lipos. I was thinking maybe maybe Octura x467 or x470 but im really not sure. Thanks

    6Xl

    I would suggest you better do a lot of research before running those 6XL's in your 55 inch cat.

          Motors are way to small for that size of hull.

                  I agree that they would work. However 3S will not be an option. I would think 6S could work.

                      Oh come on Doby...) I was agreeing that 580's would work. More along the lines of 8-10wind. You funny!

                          Thanks for all of the replys. Bea the reason why they are offset is because the boat use to have 2 zenoah 26 motors in it and that was the only way they would fit . If i were to run twin 580 motors with 6s batteries what kv motors and props would you recommend? Also are there any other brushless motors that you can recommend that wont break the bank to push a hull this size?

                            How heavy is the hull?

                            A pair of 1527 1Y 1250kv Neu motors running on 6s each and you can get away with Turnigy 180 amp marine esc's per motor.

                            Just a suggestion for you to consider.

                              I have a 51" cat and there is a Lehner 3060/10 on 10s2p pushing that puppy.... even so it will not spin a 70mm prop... I am with Rob dual 1527's or a bit safer even, a 2215/2Y on 10s...
                              I understand that it'll up the price considerably, but a 55" cat on 6s will require a bunch of amps if you wanna go fast.
                              just my 2cents.
                              :::::::::::::::. It's NEVER fast enough! .:::::::::::::::
