    Waterproof Batteries?

I have a SV27 for which I bought a new set of 5000mah 7-cell batteries. The third time out, I flipped it and I took a little while to retrieve it. I was holding it by the bow letting the water drain when it started smoking. I ripped off the cover and went to disconnect the batteries. They were so cooked that the deans came unsoldered and everything was fried. I've tried to water-proof the boat as good as possible, but when it flips, water still gets in. Does anyone make a water-proof battery? I can't keep buying new ones along with the esc. BTW, it flies with 7 cells!

move the antenna to another spot on the hull, seal the hole in the hatch don't forget to cover the hatch lock with tape as well.

also if you have the stock silicone water jacket on the motor get rid of it, leaks bad, get yourself an aluminum one from this site.

Thanks guys. I was trying to get away from the tape because it's a pain but I suppose the result of not doing it is worse. I moved the antenna to the rear and epoxied the hole. I have the ammo motor and the cooling jacket from this site and a 60 amp Seaking esc. Here's some pics.

I've been in the FE hobby for over thirty years, and I have tried it all. The only reliable way to keep an FE boat's electronics dry is to make the hull waterproof. The only way to seal a hatch reliably is with tape.

You cannot reliably waterproof NiMH or LiPo cells. Water will find its way in, and if you don't know it's there it will corrode the tabs and can cause an early pack failure. If the packs get wet, open them up and dry them out, then re-shrink. Any other approach is risking water damage.

I would get rid of the radio box it doesn't seal at all, at least the ones I have seen, plus boat will be lighter with out it.
