Motor position and recommendations

I'm setting up a H2O UFO 21" V-hull for my son. I would like to run it on 2S lipo. Boat will be for fun and running against our SV27. Looking for motor ideas, I was looking at a Fiegao 540 8L. Also are there any drawbacks to mounting the motor near the transom with about a 3-4" long flex shaft. This would let me put the battery low in the boat infront of the motor, putting my COG pretty close to where it needs to be and still allow some room for adjustment.

Anyone else? I was searching and found a post by Darin Jordan last May about mounting the motor near the transom, just wondering if anyone else had any experience with a setup like this. (N-1 style but boat will not be raced
only used for fun).
