    twin mono

hey guys i really want to do a twin project and i was thinking that a mono would be cool. but i just want to clear up something, i have read that on a mono hull since it does not run level, their are problems when turning because the hull leans to the side but this was on a thread about a large triple mono, i was thinking of using a small hull (15-18 inches) will this be a problem? i know that i will have to be very creative when placing things but i think i can do it.

    thanks!!!

I suspect that you will find that in a turn a deep vee hull will pull the outside prop out of the water which will cause all kinds of handling problems. A very shallow vee may work. The best way to eliminate this problem is to do what was done in the past - use submerged drives. IMO a 15-18" hull will be too small, even 24" could be a challenge. But anything can be made to work with enough compromise.

I would love to see a twin mono! I have always thought there is some potential for two steerable subsurface drives linked together, and spaced VERY close together to keep them in the water.

I think it would be possible to stagger the motors to get them close, just like in the big boys. You would just need different length flex cables and you could put the motors one in front of the other.. I could be way out to lunch here though.
