Gotta agree with Ozzie on this one. What I learned when wiring my house is the higher the voltage, the longer the wire can be or the smaller diameter you can use (there is a chart and it's linear). If you have 4 inches of 10ga wire on your 3s lipos and you run 2 packs in series, you can run 8 inches with 10ga with no penalty. For long runs, just use a larger dia. wire and you'll do fine. If it heats up terribly, use a larger dia wire.

The wires come directly out of the pack! In the arrangment here, there are CONNECTORS at the pack, so, additional connectors. Not sure why you can't see it so I have drawn a picture for you. three TIMES MORE OPPORTUNITY FOR PROBLEMS!

aha, now I see what you mean.

        but :

Normal Lipo packs : bullets, connected to esc.
My Lipo pack : esc wires direct connect to lipopack, bullets.

IMO : still the same :-)

plus : we only use the 6mm bullets used by Schulze aswell, you won't find better ones.
        : 10s pack vs 2x5s : 2conn vs 4conn :-)

But I don't wanna argue, I like my way, you like yours.

btw : the pic's shown by Ryan ain't "typical European" ,
we like separate packs PER motor, not all packs combined for both motors.

Haha. I think your way is clean and beautiful! I have just learned that the fewest connections possible, the less trouble.

We typically combine our packs too. I wouldn't want one motor running down before the other which is possible with separate packs. So we parallel the packs for more capacity which maintaining the voltage. I'm not saying your way is wrong by any means.

                Sailr ;

In my large cat I have 4x 10S
                10S2P per motor.
EACH 10s pack will have it's OWN lipo-safe/cut-off.
each liposafe can shut down the whole boat.

Aha! Makes sense. Sounds good! Being able to shut down the whole boat is a good thing for sure!

On German engineering, they do their homework and on the whole buiild reliable safe products and yes they are expensive, but if money is not an issue within reason I will buy the German product. Asian products are another matter. If you think UL and CSA give piece of mind..CE is much more strigent as to RF interference etc. It cost a manufacturing company I workked for $7,000 to meet safety and other criteria to pass CE for one machine! and as they are custom built that cost would apply to each machine
