    Nigel saves the day !

Had just tweaked up my M545 & took some ballast out of the nose of the H&M shovel. Made a hooked turn fin & finally got to corner at full throttle. Did some crowd-pleasing 60 + mph laps, then the dreaded blowover ! Immediately sunk stern down with @ 6" just poking out of the water. Rowed out like mad & got her just in time. No hatch !! Crap, no chance of finding a replacement H&M hatch for sure. Slowly rowed aimlessly & despondently around in circles looking, then : a little ripple about 10 feet away. The hatch [the flotation ripped off in the blowover] was there just below the surface with the bouency supplied by none other than my fearless driver Nigel Fuffingham [from Birmingham] !! A little FG & Bondo & she'll be as good as new. Go Nigel !!!

Patrick, the prop was one that Darin sent me balanced and sharpened to replace one I loaned him at the '08 Nat's. I just put a mild cup at the tip. How 'bout some pix & reports on that H&M - it's a pretty special, rare find

That's a cool driver you got there. Glad you found your hatch. Maybe you can get Nigel a PFD!

All fixed ! Electronics including batteries survived [ love that Corrosion-X] Added more flotation. Hate to say it, but if Nigel wasn't an "airhead", I'd have lost the hatch. From now on it's Sir Nigel Fuffingham III

Flotation is a good thing !! I had plenty in the nose but removed some from the sides of the hull when I did some maintenence and didn't replace it. It's back in now. Actually the front of the hatch is pinned, but when the boat blows over it'll land bass ackwards ripping off the tape. Do report on your H&M when you can; very cool boat-me likey !!
