Ive had 3 of them. This is basically a cracker-box with a keel. Well built CB's with good setups struggle at 25+ to be stable. The hulls are very soft and don't lend themselves to over powering easy. I have one in the box in storage and was going to install a mild brushless 1200kv motor with a 30 amp esc. The factory prop is 44mm and will need a low kv setup to swing it. The first thing you will encounter is bouncing. A result of the soft bottom. Lots of general instability over what I would imagine was 20mph also. Mind you its good for better than 15 stock.
In conclusion you can gut the hull and epoxy some thin ply down to make it rigid. In the end I think you will have more fun with just a minor upgrade keeping the factory running gear in place.
    Good Luck

thanks. think CF in the bottom if you gut the molded mount area out would stiffen it up a bit? maybe makes some kind of stringer system? i guess i get bored sometimes and just like something to tinker with

Sure go for it. I wouldn't waist the cash on CF use birch. if you have it laying around thats kewl. Stringers will work but remember the hulls opening is smallish and its also shallow so stingers will restrict battery placement.
