Ready to run weights for spec. boats?

Just curious as to the ready to run weights of these FE (P Spec) boats, like the 20 Whip's, Raptor and JAE 21 riggers ?
Also what effect the weight has on the speed and handling, does less weight equal being able to run more prop, cooler temps ect......
I just named a few boats that seem to talked about the most, if there are others please feel free to add your input.
Any insight or opinions are welcome.
    Thanks T.C.

It sounds to me like you've pondered well into some great variables.
In essence those are some of the tuning options that can give one an advantage in a spec class.
If you race, maybe you can experiment with these things yourself and come out with a winning combo.

I'm not a wildly successful spec winner, though I've faired out well in many heats. Speeds are pretty close in these classes, but its still a driver's race.

I run a Grimracer 44/55 with all spec motors gold black or blue, and usually end up in the front 80pct of the pack or higher.

I see guys running 642's but it shortens the life of the motor and in some cases roasts the motor

Guys are having great success with a prop I'm not familiar with I believe an H-7?
I generally run a lighter boat, and believe it definitely affects heat in fact i don't even run water cooling (not recommended)

Either way in a spec class it remains a driver's race. Here's a short clip where I started behind, but my opponent though running a 642 and having a faster boat I had the driving advantage http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WSPHcyfzUJc

        Terry,

My Whip all up weighs in @ 5lbs 4oz running a UL1 motor, Turnigy 120 amp speedo and 2 Hyperion VX 4200's. I run a detounged X642 pull 2800 mah out of the batteries for a 6 lap 1 mile heat and nothing gets above 120 degrees.

Several of the guys in my club have Whip's in excess of 6lbs. with no negative effects.

My Raptor runs about 4.5 lbs.

Power to weight ratio is the same in all forms of racing, the lighter the better. Having said that, you need the boat to be heavy enough to stay on the water.

Bill, an unmodified H7 is a 47mm 1.5 ratio prop. Without modification it will roast a UL1 motor. With modification is another story...............

        All the best,

        Ray

Rigger prop is subject to change though.............LOL
