Mine fried on the first run about 5 seconds into the run. I launched the boat it started to get up on plane and then quit. I pulled the throttle again just to see if the boat was dead and there was a huge pop. The rest is history. I have some pics of the ESC somewhere.

I am sorry to hear this. The simple reality here is that the OP was way way overpropped. A 7XL on a decent 5S pack in a cat should be running an x438 or y536 tops. It really is too much motor for 5S in anything but a race setup. Running it like a sport boat until the pack dumps gave the expected result. The big three-bladed SV prop is not at all suitable for most high-performance BL setups on 5S, except with motors like a 11XL and higher.
Based upon some data logging I have done with a 7XL, 4S and large props, in the corners the OP's setup was probably pulling in excess of 200 amps. By the end of the straights perhaps 135-150 amps, maybe more. It is no wonder why the Castle fried. It would have been okay for one lap, but four.....
The motor is likely damaged too - what was the motor temperature? If it got much over 185F the magnets are probably gone. Toss the motor. I tried to run a motor with bad magnets and it toasted several ESCs...
The sad thing is that the boat would probably have been even faster with a smaller metal prop, and the ESC would still be with us. Best efficiency for these motors is generally under 100 amps - allowing the motor to spin up would have given a higher speed with much less heat.....
Never never run the same prop when you increase the voltage and motor Kv without careful testing. Four laps full out is not careful testing.

Stealth;
Its complete and running well , currently around the low 50's with the stock prop. Will be experimenting with different ones soon. I'll start a new thread soon for that .Grand River Marine Modellers
