    Help with my BJ26!!,strange behavior?...

this is my second time in the water with my BJ.Traded it already updated with Fulllers hardware.Running it on Nimh right now and on its stock Am TX.First run weeks ago it was perfect.
Motor runs perfectly good off the water,as soon boat its in the water it won`t accelerate at all.The servo works perfectly on and off the water,so i`m assuming it`s s not the radio.Checked for radio range problems and off the water works ok.If prop is half off the water it would accelarate real good,as soon prop completely submerges it stops but will give some burst accelaration if you keep trying.Any ideas? checked all Rx connections......this is weird?.......Albert

A bad pack under load will have too high of a voltage drop. If you are using Nimh's, try disabling the low voltage cutoff and see if that helps.

If it is at high, change it to low. Also try a set of known good batteries. What batteries are you currently using?

well, tried different packs freshly charged and same thing.Re-checked and re-programmed with low cutoff as it was set and nothing same thing.Changed from low cutoff to high and it runs like a champ,no problem. My packs are 7.2-4500mah NiMh.Is it suppose to run on high or low cutoff with my setup?......Thanks,......

For Nimh's it is supposed to be low. But if it works with High then you are good to go.
Now go out and have some fun...in the daytime of course.

So my esc is then having some issues or maybe my batteries need a tune-up?Uhmmm.I know low is whats recommended for Nimh. Will be reconditioning my packs during the week and see how it behaves in low cutoff after that......Thanks much again,..........Albert/karfrik

This is a problem that many people have had with the BJ26 on this forum, and it ONLY happens with NiMH batteries, esp low quality ones. If you want the boat to run properly with the stock ESC/motor combo, then all I can say is switch to LiPO batteries and you'll never look back. The NiMH batteries just can't handle the job, and you need to move on and make the switch. Enjoy!

Yeap, switching to lipos very soon.Tried it again today and even though it ran "better" not to my expectations.Gonna re-condition my Nimh packs and see how it goes then.If not Lipos for the NEW YEAR IT IS!!!!!!!........

The higher the better. I run the NEU 5000 mAh capacity, rated for 30C continuous discharge, with 60C bursts

                            That's 150A continuous, 300A short duration
