    Twin Setup Tips???

Question for you neu motor guru's. Would a 1509/2y twin setup on a 32" catamaran with 4s on each motor be able to spin at least octura x445's counter rotation props? If any more info is needed please ask. This will be my first twin attempt and any tips are appreciated.

    Thank you

Based on the fact that a 1509 1Y will pull that prop on 2S, I don't see a problem with a 2Y pulling the same prop on 4S, especially w/a twin setup. Just be careful the first few test runs until you are comfortable with your ampdraw.

I have found that in testing a setup that works in a single can be a little hotter in a twin setup. This was kind of cool. What we tested was a set of 7XL twins on 4S each with X442 left and right, Oh this was in a Cat. In a hydro single I would not run that setup I would run a 8XL on 4S and a X442. Just a little info hope this helps too.

The biggest problem for us guys that run twins is prop selection! There aren't many sets of l & r props out there ... Octura makes x442's & x447's but for easy ordering stateside that's about it!

Although I haven't looked in a few months buit availablility of product is the problem!

I had some x447's cut down to 45's. They are custom. You need to check out ABC props for c/r availability, they have a great selection.

South River has some ABC 3 blade props in L/R rotation.

I would use 5 cells with those motors in a twin set up and yes you will be able to swing those x445's , just keep an eye on the temp's. Bonewar
