just finished my drifter today and went for a fast test run. Im using my set up that was in my BBY OVALMASTER 29 9xl, 70 hacker, 642 prop,MAXAMPS 7.4v 8000mah lipos 44.2 mph. Still need to tweak it. IT has flashing on the octura rudder and strut still sooo.:D but im super stoked with this hull it turns good and handles like a dream. This is the hull to get:D ........I will shoot some vid soon.................... ALOHA........TUNDA...............

                      Batteries and Epoxy

                      Tunda,

What type of epoxy are you using to hold everything in place?

                      adreher,

For what it's worth I'm using those exact batteries in my brushless Losi 8IGHT. I like them quite well.
                      Revolt 30, River Jet, Southampton Tug, Outcast 6S BLX, 8ight-E, Ten-SCBE, 22 2.0.
                      '09 Miata.
Ibanez basses and guitars. Mapex drums, Zildjian cymbals.

                        Drifter S Rocks !

Tunda ; Congrats , you'll have tons of fun with the Drifter. I've had mine about a year and a half & it's my favorite. It currently holds the LSO SAW record [ but probably not for long !]
I've since been running an 8XL, Hydra 120, X640 on 12 IB 4200's & run @ 46 mph. Three weeks ago a fellow [ Watts=Power on the forums] with the SAME setup using 4s lipos radared 57 mph at Legg Lake !!! Smokin !!
Last week at Legg I smoked my Hydra when she caught some weeds so yesterday I ran with a spare [un-watercooled] CC 80, propped down to a X637 to be kinder to the 'Cuda & she FLEW !! using 12 really tired IB 4200's . No radar, but mid forties for sure. Actually did a slow-motion blowover on the back straight.
I think that the inline rudder & skeg strut you're running will help handling better than my offset rudder ; mine is very flip-prone in racewater.
Play with the CG ; keep moving it back 'till she blows over, than set it a little forward. Tweek the strut depth & angle 'till she runs level & cool. Enjoy !!

                        Tony :)
