    Jet Drives

Has anyone done much work with jet drives, I've got an 18x6in hull that i was thinking about making into a jet boat. and the site that I've found them at is Hobby-Lobby.com and they say a 700 motor is ideal for the one i was looking at and was wondering what motor/esc combo you guys would suggest thats not brushless because I can't afford that.
    Thanks for your input

I have never used a jet drive but a 700 SC and a Jeti 600 controller using up to 16 NiMH cells at 35 amps is a max setup for the 700. It is to much weight for the 18 inch hull. Probably 6-8 cells max. 11000 to 14500 unloaded rpm. Hope that helps!
