Telemetry requires the telemetry rx. The MR3000 is not a telemetry receiver.
If you want telemetry, you need to use the SR3300T. It has a 4" long antenna which you need to locate as high in the boat as possible. When using the SR3300T you probably won't have the same range as with the MR3000. Dial the boat in while running closer, then switch to the MR3000 for racing.

but a normal spektrum rx togethor with the telemtry from the stand alone system (the spektrum telemetry that is seperate from the tx), i think its spm1210 or somthing, just the module not the screen is needed
i have seen these for around $20
to some the telemetry may seem a bit silly, but when setting up a new boat or testing props being able to keep an eye on temps is greatComment

I happen to use Futaba FASST just to share a same transmitter with my buggies and trucks. NO ONE has EVER had a single problem, include the ones sealed in tape and silicone, the ones run naked in dirt and sand.... everyone works perfectly. There may be other decent 2.4G systems out there as well, just haven't got a chance to get my hands on any of them because I have no motivation to change.Comment

just a thought, on the spektrum site they show how to get pack voltage (not rx) from the telemtry system, they dont use the sr3300t
