What motor for 29" Phantom. Pls Help :)

    Hi peoples..

Need a little help deciding on a Motor for my 29" Phantom Cat
    Currently running a Feigao 580L with a Hi-model 200 esc.
It gets along quite well, 45 mph when i prop up a smidge.
but i want a lil more again.

What Neu motor would you say would be suitable?
Any recommendations or opinions on what would suit best?

It is a lil on the heavy side compared to most cheap hulls and isnt shaped like a slim offshore design.
    I want around 55mph with 3-4mins runtime.
Or any thing thats not goin to run me to hot..

        Yeah good call ..

Ok so ended up goin with Neu 1515 1.5y (1500kv)
        Whats opinions on props?
        Goin to run 2 x 5000 40c 3s in series for 6s.
Will i need to upgrade my flex cable from .150 to .187 or will it be ok?

        Cheers guys

what 580L were you running? The 580L should easily push that hull to 60mph.

                  the motor is a 6l 2154kv on 4s
its not just the speed he is after but longer run time
the 580 would probably push it to 60 but only short runs. with the 6l on 4s it just pulls to many amps when proped up
by going with a stronger setup and changing to 6s he is hoping for some more speed with a decent run time and the motor/batts can easily be transfered in to some thing else down the track

                    Yep what scott said

I bought this off Ozzie crawl ^
IT goes well and was pretty happy with it for running it round our local pond we go to have a run. But ive started taking it to my club where they all run Gas boats and on practise days only i like to get it out and have a run with the gassers to show 'em what the electric scene has to offer!

So the reason for the new Motor is like scott said, maintain speed or a lil more and have a slightly longer run time 4 mins being the target
