    4 point hydros

I am thinking about building a 4 point hydro, along the lines of the 1980 Circus Circus boat or the 4 point Elam... I used to see a lot of them back a few years and they were very quick as I recall, but I have never built or run one.

As such I have a few questions:

Does anyone have any pictures/info on what type of ride surfaces were used on the front and back?

    Do they have turn fins?

What might be the placement of the CG?

That may be the ultimate 1/10 scale. Do you have a 3 view of the elam?

Try to get some pictures of the old fisher canards.

Not legal as a sport hydro.

What you are referring to is a canard hull - all canards are 4-point but not all 4-pointers are canards. I ran one years ago with limited success due to low power and high weight. Canards run best when slightly over-powered.

This is the only photo I have of a bottom. The front sponson has a flat pad on it. The CG depends on the sponson design but is usually 30-35%. Turn fins were not usually installed, except for one model AFAIK.

ERROR 403 - This is not the page you are looking for

From the bottom pic that Jay showed mine is nearly identical, yet that is the first time I have eveer seen that pic.
Mine is a lot smaller 26" and has a 8S 4400 kv on 2-cell lipo.
Proped right will clear 70 kmh mid 40's mph
It was a blast to design, build, modify and setup. It is one of my favourite hulls and a XL powered one may happen next year for me.
        See it....find the photos.....sketch it it....build it........with wood

You micht want to check out a previous posting on this forum:

If you go to the end of the above forum reference you can see a canard(s) I am working on that appears to be identical to the picture shown. I can provie more info if this is the type of FE you are interested in.
