A 27" mono would work great with an SV or BJ motor/ESC on 4S. Since this boat runs a fully submerged drive you will be better served with a lower Kv and larger prop than what you'd be able to run with a UL-1 setup.
I suppose you could also run a 10L or 12L Feiago on 2S, but you'll have longer run times with the 4S setups. Lower amp draw for the same power, everything cooler and longer running.

A battery is a battery. the motor doesn't care where it gets its power from. You will need a brushless speed controller though.
LiPos save weight and will give you considerably more speed than a similar voltage NiCd.Grand River Marine Modellers
