    Canard ??

    I have another mad idea.
The mono that took a beating after cartwheehing down the pond is now a semi shelf queen.
The original sponsons off the Balsa XS3 copy are on the same shelf.
The rear of the mono is rooted, and I'll not run the fancy looking sponsons on the rigger again.

I have a very nice small Canard now.

    Here is the plan.
A real cut and shut to make a 4S size Canard that is all about looks.
This will recycle a few parts and allow me to make a bigger Canard that has been on the cards for a while.
There will be be a fair amount of alloy and GF tube in this and I will not plan for a rear wing as fitted to my smaller Canard. This will be a backwards rigger of sorts.

Anyone think this is a bad idea ?
Who wants to see this go. ?

I was actually wondering when are you going to come up with a canard.... I'd say go for it, it looks excellent. Not sure what will be the third point of contact, though... maybe adding a deep V step very close to the nose will do the trick. Balancing will be a nightmare, but this has never stopped you before, so I'll be watching!!!

Similar looking to a cannard, wave handling of a mono and they turn like a cat if setup right.

Ok So it is a go.
I have one Canard and Matt showed the the Bladerunner (maybe next time)
I'll give this one a go.
There wil be a lot of cutting of the original mono, no real loss as the rear of the hull is farked.
Give me a week or two and I'll see what I can do.

I vowed (to me) that I would not do another 4S or XL size hull but this one just came to me after a very nice curry and a good ale(s).

Had you thought about using the parts to do a early Hydro, a mono with sponsons in the front?
