    Aquacraft UL-1 Hydro or EKOS?

Pretty new to the hobby, looking for a Ready to Run, fast, drivable boat. My son will be getting a Proboat Formula Fastech soon, I'm looking for a fast, but reliable boat.

Would you recommend the Aquacraft UL-1 hydro, or the new EKOS? I like the lines of the EKOS better, but I like the idea of a simpler single engine boat... any advice?

Both are fast and reliable. What are you looking for from a boat other than fast/reliable? Those hulls are different and have different characteristics.

You may want to look over this page.

I have neither but have have 2 cats and a lot of other boats.

If you want to go very fast and run ovals a lot the the UL-1 is the go, that is what hydros are for.
If you want a pond runner that is fast and can take a bit of chop and go left and right then the E-kos is a go.

You will need to choose what you want and then go from there.
Another option is to get both and then build the collection up from there

Sorry that there is no magic answer, there are so many needs and so many hull types that it is not possible to have one amazing boat. I have 9 and not one is my favourite.
      See it....find the photos.....sketch it it....build it........with wood

I checked over the hull-type page, I am looking for something that can do a bit of maneuvering vs. oval racing right now. Think I'll start with the catamaran, then think about a hydro after that one,

          Thanks

Chief, If you chose the EKOS you did the right thing. It is a beautiful boat, fast and handles
well once it is tuned (Strut angles, etc.). You will not be sorry
