    Zippkits 21FE

So who else has ordered the $80.00 4s rigger from Zippkits.com?
Anyone modifying the FREE .21G2 plans for FE and building?

I've modified and built the 12, scaled up to a little larger than sport .21....right at the paint stage...will be able to post a pic in a week or so. Should be running in less than 2 weeks. Motor is going to be scorpion 3026....and or neu 1415 1y both on 4s. They are cool little boats..

Spoke to the designers at length yesterday, this design [with out modification!] should make for a F/E rocket ship in my opinion.

Just to let you guys know, those would run MUCH better in Colorado around the end of August. Just a friendly hint to come on down to the Nats, we would LOVE to have your clubs.

Thats cool to hear. I'm reading allot about the nitro version on IW. Not much at all about the FE version. Looks like we have at least three on order for D12. Can't wait to see them!!!

On the list also. I may pull the motor and Fullers hardware from the Matrix that I run with a Neu 1512 1.5D, and CC 240lv. Cant wait to see the build threads on here. Maybe a Neu 1515y on 4s would would be a way to go .

I sent them an Email when i first heard they were coming out with a FE kit but I guess it must have been eaten by their spam filter, as there are no dimensions for it online yet has anyone spoken to them and found out how big it is? I've heard its for P spec hydro but I believe you allow 4s2p, will 8 cells fit in? or will it only fit 4s1p? The only size listed on their site is that it is for 36mm motors, does that mean a watercooled 40mm 15 series Neu won't fit in? What about lengthwise, will a XL size 36mm can fit?

I received an email on Tuesday stating that they have not put any kits together yet and could or would not give me the dimensions. They then went on to say they will not sell direct to Aust and will have to deal with Coilin Buckmaster at http://www.ozrcboatsupplies.com. Read more expensive

There will be plans available, I have an advance set. It is basically the .21g {nitro] boat with the rear boom moved back to the very rear top corner of the sponson so the speed control goes under the sponson tube in front of the motor an batteries in front of that. I would like the tub height to be 2.25 tall instead of 2.00 to allow for the velcro and tie down straps. Weight HAS to be 60-40% with this design. It is 30" long without hardware and fits the UL-1 power system as designed with 1P. If you want more power than 4s 1p 5000 build from the plans and widen the hull for 4s 2p.

I was told that the tube is 2.5" wide.

                            I have 5 on order.

I also have the FE plans and can give some dimensions. It's very close to the 21G2, with both booms moved back, rear bulkhead moved and a slight change to the sponson profile (but not running surfaces).

Transom dimensions (which will give the internal tub size) are 2-15/16" wide and 1-15/16" high.

Boat is 30" from sponson tip to transom (add a bit if you want to include the ski).

Lipo drawn is 7" long by 1-47/64" high by 2" wide. Motor looks to be a UL1 or similar, and back of it sits slightly above tub sides (so a bubble of some kind is needed). The speed control shown is 4" long, so you should be able to easily fit a longer motor in there, depending on your lipo and ESC. Hatch opening above lipo and motor is about 16" long (there's 2 different dims on the plan, will no doubt be fixed).

Length between front bulkhead and rear sponson boom is 9-11/16. Height from tub floor to centre of rear boom is 1-11/64" (ESC is shown under this boom).

Rod Geraghty was kind enough to send me the plans last week, but I can't guarantee that these dimensions will be the final kit dimensions. Hope this helps.
