    2 blade vs. 3 blade

Hi, Is there any advantage in FE boats in using a 2 blade or a three blade.
    Thanks for any help,

Norman in my experience 3 blade props lose a little top speed but give you more grunt out of the corners. Some boats like my 33" mono just hate 2 blade props and run much better on 3 blades. Keep in mine that the extra blade equals out to be about one size up in prop diameter (or around there). So if you are running a two blade 42mm prop a three blade 40mm prop will yield about the same amp draw as long as the pitch is equal as well.

I think I read somewhere that a comparable three blade will create more drag in the water as well, especially on surface drives

Hi, Guys thanks for the info. I think I will keep to 2 blades. I now run Octura X640 and X642
        on a 30" Scratch built cat,(My Avatar)and 642 on my Titan 29" Mono.

I notice on my SV the three blade prop hops less than my two blades in the corners. But then again maybe my setup is just all wrong.
